Harvey’s at the Henderson - Hendersonville

Located in The Henderson, a historic bed and breakfast with impressive architecture reminiscent of the 1920s, Harvey’s opened its doors in late spring. Specializing in small, shareable plates made with seasonal ingredients, menu standouts include Carolina shrimp ceviche, fried mac ‘n’ cheese bites, and quail scotch eggs with curried mayonnaise. The restaurant also offers a hefty Sunday brunch with mimosa and Bloody Mary bars. 201 3rd Ave. W.; (828) 696-2001; www.thehendersonnc.com/harveys

Garlik Vegan - Horse Shoe

Since March, Garlik Vegan (whose name is a blend of the husband and wife team’s last names, Garrett and Kozlik) has served up vibrant plant-based dishes, including chicken philly cheesesteak, speciality pizzas, and sweet treats like banana split cupcakes. In addition to specialty teas and infused waters, the restaurant also offers a curated selection of vegan beer and wine. 3754 Brevard Rd., Ste. 108; (828) 513-1503; www.garlikvegan.com

The Ridgeline - Blowing Rock

Renovating and taking over the space formerly occupied by Canyons, The Ridgeline brought what it calls “contemporary mountain cuisine with a global twist” to the High Country in May. While savoring mountain views, diners can enjoy dishes like potato-encrusted sustainable salmon and Korean beef shank ribs with barbecue-peanut slaw. Executive chef Sara Hord, who has worked with Top Chef Masters’ Tony Mantuano and Rick Bayless, takes the helm. The bar emphasizes North Carolina spirits and beer. 8960 Valley Blvd.; (828) 414-9922; www.ridgelineblowingrock.com
