Pi-Squared Pizza
Hendersonville

Take a trip to the Motor City without leaving WNC at Pi-Squared Pizza. The Detroit-style pizza joint opened in February, featuring square slices with a signature thick crust, caramelized cheese, and sauce on top. Grab a coveted corner slice in the restaurant’s red brick dining room decorated with Detroit-themed memorabilia. 1972 Haywood Rd.; (828) 693-0799; www.pi-squaredpizza.com

Ecusta Taproom
Brevard & Pisgah Forest

Brevard has two new reasons to say cheers with the opening of Ecusta Brewery and Taproom. A downtown location features creative seasonal brews in an English pub-style atmosphere. A second taproom, slated to open in June, is located at the doorstep of Pisgah Forest and will produce the brewery’s flagship beers in an outdoorsy setting. Both locations will offer local and national craft beers, and Ecusta’s own beer will be released in the coming months. 44 E. Main St. & 49 Pisgah Hwy.; (828) 966-2337; Facebook: Ecusta Brewery and Taproom

Market at 36
Brevard

Chef Jaime Hernandez’s celebrated dishes like andouille gumbo and crawfish mac and cheese are ready for the road. Market at 36, the new artisan deli and catering arm of Jaime’s Creole Brasserie, opened in April. Waterfall-seekers can stop in and pack a picnic basket full of fresh, local products including beer and wine. For dine-in, the deli’s rustic, modern décor is enhanced by cozy outdoor seating. 36 E. Main St.; (828) 883-3399; www.marketat36.com
