Established in 1976, the Thomas Wolfe 8K is Asheville’s oldest running event, honoring its namesake, a renowned local author. This annual race winds through historic neighborhoods and offers scenic views of downtown Asheville. Proceeds from the event benefit the Thomas Wolfe Memorial and Read to Succeed Buncombe County/Asheville. The race is open to both beginners and seasoned runners of all ages. Registration includes a race T-shirt, chip-timed race, awards, and post-race snacks. Convenient race day parking is available at the Montford Community Center and Montford North Start Academy.
