
A joint show between the Asheville Art Museum and the Rubell Museum in Miami, Rebel/Re-Belle highlights contemporary art that explores how artists have helped shape and support the Civil Rights movement, feminist movements, and the LGBTQ Rights movements. Showcasing artists whose identities exist at the intersection of a myriad perspectives on race, gender, and socioeconomics, including the works of: Anni Albers, Judy Chicago, Bessie Harvey, Wendy Red Star, and Liz Williams, Marilyn Minter, Catherine Opie, Jennifer Rubell, Tschabalala Self, Cindy Sherman, and Mickalene Thomas.
