The 1907 Hayes and Hopson building, which overlooks Pack Square Park and houses Pack’s Tavern, has history; during Prohibition, liquor was exchanged at this spot via underground tunnels. Today, more than 60 dishes create the menu, from the thick and hearty Mt. Mitchell burger, stacked with bacon, fried green tomato, and cheddar cheese, to the Carolina bison meatloaf. Local beers rotate through more than 30 taps.
