Evening Primrose (Oenothera grandiflora): Bartram discovered this rare beauty in Alabama in 1775.

Rhododendron punctatum

Bartram discovered the Franklin Tree (Franklinia alatamaha) in Georgia in 1765. Named for Benjamin Franklin, the plant is extinct in the wild but is cultivated as an ornamental.

The black-throated blue warbler (Dendroica caerulescens) can still be spotted along the Bartram Trail today.
