October Oyster and Shrimp Festival

October 17, 2015 The Burke Arts Council’s largest annual fund-raiser drew about 2,000 attendees from across the state, who filled up on locally crafted beer and wine, more than 5,000 fried and boiled shrimp, and over 10,000 fried and steamed oysters. Live musical entertainment at the Old Courthouse Square in Morganton and a photography exhibit held at the gallery added to the fun.   photographs by John S. Payne and Anne Thompson
