Old windows, barn wood, bird nests, and other objects from nature find new purpose in Laurel Wiker’s collages. “When I moved to the mountains, I’d drive around exploring the area, and would find materials on the side of the road,” she says. The self-taught artist found inspiration for Butterfly Garden Revisited when friends passed along these specimens they had found. Wiker’s work can be seen exclusively at Mountain Lights in Asheville.
