home sweet home Kevin and Harli Palme turned an ailing Dutch colonial-style house in Asheville’s Montford neighborhood into a bright abode in which to raise their three girls.
The Palmes opened up the kitchen by removing walls between it and the dining room and adding windows. Clean white tiles against sharp blue cabinets further brighten the space.
The bathroom, which holds a mid-century Ward Bennett sideboard-turned-sink, connects to the bedroom via a small office space and walk-through closet.
The top half-floor holds ample play space for the girls as well as Mattie Clark’s room. Recessed shelving provides storage for games, books, and more.
In the living room, mid-century modern-style furnishings and two works of art by Kevin speak to the couple’s clear aesthetic.
