March 18 & 19, 2016 This annual event is hosted by the Outdoor Gear Builders of WNC, a group whose mission is to promote and support the local outdoor gear industry. A Meet the Makers VIP event was held Friday night at Smoky Mountain Adventure Center in Asheville, where attendees enjoyed food from Moe’s BBQ and local beers, cider, and sake. The festival on Saturday offered gear vendors, clinics, demos, races, and other hands-on fun.

Tyler Brown with Big Adventures in Fletcher showcased watercraft at the VIP event.

Brantlee Eisenman and Meg Bruch sold local brews and cider at the festival on Saturday.

Sara Defosset with Fifth Element Camping, which produces micro car camper systems.

The VIP event was held at the new Smoky Mountain Adventure Center in Asheville.
