The Red Rocker Inn looks like it’s just waiting for the holiday season.
Offering a sense of merriment and Southern hominess, it’s fitting that this inn—along with about 10 other Black Mountain bed-and-breakfasts—will be hosting the Visions of Sugar Plums Christmas Cookie Tour, an event created and coordinated by Red Rocker innkeeper Jenny Bowman.
Each participating inn will decorate for the season and create a signature cookie:
“Either an original recipe or an unusual one,” says Bowman. “You’re not going to find your run-of-the-mill sugar cookie here.”
In addition to enjoying the confections, visitors will receive recipe cards at each stop. Inn guests go home with a gift bag, which includes a recipe book to stow cards.
The sweetest part of this collaboration is that ticket proceeds benefit Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry, a group that helps people with basic and emergency needs, as well as the Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce. Your contribution and the new cookies you make for Santa will certainly land your name on his “nice” list.
