When Moog Music teamed up with independent concert promoter A.C. Entertainment to move Moogfest from New York City to Asheville last year, it was a boon for the city and regional electronic music fans, and added international status to our music scene. Celebrating the innovations of Asheville’s electronic pioneer Bob Moog, the festival brought some of the biggest names in the music industry to perform. For this edition, Psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips, Moby, prog-rock jam band Umphrey’s McGee, and trance group Sound Tribe Sector 9 are among the 40 plus acts performing October 28-30. “I’m really excited to see Tangerine Dream,” says Moog Music President Mike Adams. “They’re planning a very special set for Moogfest.” Workshops, talks, interactive experiences, and art installations are part of the experimental and educational weekend, which is sure to sell out. So don’t hesitate. Go buy tickets. Now.
