Swing High
Be a circus performer for a day at Dare to Fly Trapeze in Asheville, where ages four and older can learn to swing, flip, and dismount onto a net, while securely being tethered to a safety line. The basic two-hour class begins with instruction and warm up on a low practice bar before the high-flying fun begins. Classes start at $15.

Get on the Good Foot
Conquer your fears during a brisk march across 1,000-degree coals. Firewalk Productions in Boone helps people raise awareness, self-esteem, and their adrenaline, and will offer up to 10 firewalks in 2016 at Mystery Hill in Blowing Rock. The next one is May 28. Prices start at $97.

Great Heights Await
Channel your inner child with Blue Ridge Tree Climbing, located just over the border in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Groups of two can spend a half day discovering new climbing knots, gear, and skills all while stretching their limits in a tree. $95-$395 per person.
