’Round the bend: The engineering marvel that is Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway, in a color scheme befitting its grandeur.

Fallen glory: Passing out of peak leaf season, a colorful carpet builds at Crab Tree Falls Trail.

Fire sky: Sunrise at the Rough Ridge Overlook on Grandfather Mountain, as the clouds melt into ripples of amber.
