Erica & Justin

Erica and Justin met in Dallas, TX, but quickly realized their paths had nearly crossed several times before. From discovering they were at the same venue a year prior (the bride spotted the groom in one of her videos from the night) to being at the same music festival, and a handful of other close encounters, it seems these two were destined to meet.

After a surprise proposal (despite the bride finding the ring while packing for a ski trip with friends), the couple began looking for the perfect venue. Both Justin and Erica love camping, hiking, and the outdoors, and with family in both Tennessee and Maryland, they wanted a “halfway point” for their big day. “That’s when we found JuneBug,” the bride remembers, “It had this gorgeous outdoor space with beautiful flowers, a little hiking trail around the property, and this fun creek running through the middle of it. Then we got to see the amazing Airstreams; it felt like the stars aligned for us to have our wedding there!”

Fast forward to late September, Erica and Justin celebrated their commitment to one another surrounded by family and friends in the verdant woodlands of Weaverville. The bride wore her mother’s emerald earrings, while the groom’s wedding band was an heirloom handed down from his grandfather. Capturing their first look in a treehouse on site was a magical and serene moment before the bride arrived at the ceremony in a turquoise Volkswagen camper before crossing Flat Creek on a rope bridge to join her groom. 

The love the two felt from all their family and friends coming together was especially felt and treasured that day. “For me, the most meaningful thing was the first dance with my dad. My dad just recently passed away suddenly in April 2024, so I’ve been thinking of him a lot; how he was at the wedding and our father-daughter dance. It was something we didn’t practice but he told me that he had me and not to worry. That means a lot thinking back on it now,” cherishes the bride.
