Artful Design - Home industry professionals collaborate to create a unique masterpiece.
The home is nearly 6,000 square feet, and contains four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half-baths.
The lighting in the dining room and kitchen area is subtle, so as not to create a visual barrier between the two spaces. It blends into the ceiling beams, which are designed to look aged rather than painted black.
The white oak ceilings carry a feeling of warmth through the home. The timber, which has a tendency to twist over time, was sustainably sourced from Tennessee.
The home was decorated with furnishings from Ambiente and Textura Rugs, two local businesses that emphasize luxury and quality. Local art also flows throughout the home; in the foyer is a sculpture from Marshall potter Josh Copus.
Behind the kitchen is a functional secondary prep space, complete with an additional dishwasher and other appliances, a wet bar, refridgerator drawers, and an ice maker.
A solid panel in between walls of glass showcases a painting by UNC Asheville grad Jeremy Russell.
Designed not to feel like a typical enclosed basement, three out of four of the lower-level walls are fully glass, letting in an uphill view of the property.
The lower level of the home contains a multipurpose room, as well as a wet bar and living space that overlooks a dry stream bed of moss and ferns.
The owner’s suite, adorned with artwork by Alicia Armstrong, includes a primary bedroom, office space, vanity area, and large soaking tub.
The upstairs living space has a double-sided fireplace that is wood-burning outside and gas-powered inside.
