The second oldest folk festival in WNC, this all-day event celebrates regional music and dance. The fest, which began in 1967, honors bluegrass musician, folklorist, and so-called Minstrel of Appalachia, Bascom Lamar Lunsford, widely known for his work commemorating and preserving mountain culture. The exhibition of Lunsford’s life and career includes a listening party of his music, clogging circles, and performances by local bluegrass musicians. » Mars Hill University, Moore Auditorium, 79 Cascade St.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; free; (828) 689-1115; www.lunsfordfestival.com
