Quilts have a way of merging history and artistry into fabric; this event showcases stunning quilts from fiber artisans like Audra Rasnake, Linda Roy, and others. With over 300 featured quilts from both local and national artisans, there is a wide collection for quilt enthusiasts and novices alike. Visitors can expect quilt displays, special demonstrations, sewing stations for children, and vendor booths throughout the weekend. Demonstrations this year include using the Brother PrintModa fabric printer, using a 15 degree wedge ruler, and hoop quilting with a embroidery machine. There will also be silent auction with quilts available for sale. » Davis Event Center, 765 Boylston Hwy; Thursday & Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; $10 general admission, $5 students, free for children 12 and under; www.ashevillequiltguild.org
