April 17 & 18 » Waynesville
Spend two days celebrating the rich Appalachian history, traditional crafts, and Western North Carolina’s vibrant mountain culture. This family-friendly weekend brings together heritage crafters, artisans, musicians, storytellers, and the community for a hands-on, educational, and immersive experience. The event kicks off with a stellar live music evening featuring The Darren Nicholson Band, Woody Platt and the Bluegrass Gentlemen, The Appalachian Roadshow, and Upstream Rebellion. “Together, these artists represent the full heart of Appalachian sound—from its deep roots to its vibrant future,” say organizers. Participants can also get hands-on with traditional crafts during live demonstrations and interactive activities in spinning, weaving, carving, and more. » Main St., downtown; Friday, 6-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; free; downtownwaynesville.com
