Globally recognized for distinctive displays of virtuosity, Andrew Bird has headlined concerts from Sydney Opera House to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, performed as the Whistling Caruso in Disney’s The Muppets, and scored the FX series Baskets. This spring, the Grammy-nominated violinist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist takes the stage with Asheville Symphony Orchestra for the very first time. In this jazz, folk, and pop-influenced concert, Bird performs his acclaimed record The Mysterious Production of Eggs in its entirety, offering a tip of the hat to the album’s 20th anniversary. » Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, Harrah’s Cherokee Center, 87 Haywood St.; Friday, 8 p.m.; $58-$231; (828) 254-7046; www.ashevillesymphony.org
