As a child, Blue Fire MacMahon expressed her inner creativity by sketching and coloring the natural beauty that surrounded her. After studying painting at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama, she pursued graphic design and product photography before finding her true calling in clay. For the last 20 years, MacMahon has combined her love of ceramics, painting, and nature to create hand-built animal sculptures bearing colorful underglazes and intricate textures. “The creation process that happens during the back and forth interaction between me and the clay is truly magical,” she says.
