On The Verge submission - katherine aimone
I have been a painter throughout my life, but have never shown my work outside of my studio. I did not have the time I felt I needed to pursue painting seriously, but enjoyed working as a curator and writer.
Due to changes in my life, I am now able to pursue painting in a serious way. It is a very liberating time for me.
During the past year of intense work, I created a series of large-scale abstractions that I plan to exhibit. These paintings reflect the freedom and energy I find in finally uncapping a reservoir of dormant creativity.
I live in Asheville for nine months of the year where my husband and I have a studio; we live on Monhegan Island, Maine during the summer. Together we own Aimone Art Services, a company offering workshops, curatorial work, writing, and coaching for artists.
