On The Verge submission - constancehumphries

Growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Constance Humphries was surrounded by beauty, mystery and humor. Inheriting creative tendencies from her guitar-picker, singer-song writer dad, she began a life-long love of drawing as a child. Humphries received a more formal education at UNC Asheville, where she completed a BFA in painting and drawing. Over the next nine years, Humphries gained a MS in Information Science and worked in the digital media field in Chapel Hill, NC and New York City. She continued to make art and began exhibiting in the Southeast in 2004. Humphries now lives in Asheville, NC where she maintains her studio, teaches in the digital media program at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and lives with her husband and two dogs.
