Originally from Winston-Salem, I have mostly lived in North Carolina. I studied art at Appalachian State University (BFA) and UNC-Chapel Hill (MFA), primarily sculpture. After completing this formal education in 2003, my family and I moved to Ithaca, NY, where I worked as the studio technician for the Cornell University School of Art, Architecture, and Planning. In 2008, we decided to sell our house and travel cross-country, with loose plans on returning to North Carolina. We ended up back in WNC that year, in Asheville, and have been enjoying the wide variety of arts in the area. Here, I have been re-focusing on my artwork, producing mostly paintings for the first time since high school. I'm thrilled to be here, and am excited for the opportunities for showing work in the Asheville area.
