2010 Artists

A seasoned potter who’s taking her ceramics down a fresh path. A kinetic sculptor who’s just opened his own gallery. A glass artist who’s exploring his own style after year’s spent working behind the scenes. A painter inspired through meditation. These are just a few of the talented and intriguing winners in On the Verge, our second annual competition for emerging visual artists.

Three jurors from around the country—all experts in the visual arts who specialize in discovering, mentoring, and promoting emerging talent—selected nine finalists. And our readers voted online to nominate the tenth.
This year, WNC magazine collaborated with Flood Gallery Fine Art Center to welcome these artists to the spotlight by hosting a month-long group exhibit. Get to know the artists within these pages, but don’t miss the opportunity to see their works this June. Let the show begin.
