Smoky Park Supper Club

In a set of 19 modified shipping containers snuggled next to the French Broad River, one of Asheville’s most eagerly awaited restaurants is open. The fare at Smoky Park Supper Club is fittingly sturdy, with unconventional touches. Wood-grilled entrées include a whole trout with lime and a grilled avocado vinaigrette, and a pork chop with smoked tomato gravy and sweet and sour onions. The Cut Cocktail Lounge  
Sylva

If a late night in Sylva finds you hungry or thirsty, you’ve got no excuse: The Cut Cocktail Lounge, tucked away down a staircase off Main Street, serves its full menu every day from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The swank space offers craft cocktails, cheap beer, and fancy bites along with a daily crock pot special, with dishes such as chicken pesto over rice—“basically the sort of thing your mom served at home,” notes owner Jacque Laura. Nu Wray Inn  Burnsville
Under new ownership, the historic Nu Wray Inn has re-opened its long-closed restaurant, which is serving lunch and dinner Friday to Sunday. Think down-home, family-style fare like fried chicken and creamed corn, topped off with banana pudding.
