USAC Mountain Bike Gravity Nationals
Competitors from across the United States head to the slopes of Beech Mountain Resort to claim the title of best downhill mountain biker in the nation. With a little help from gravity, cyclists reach up to 90 miles per hour in a race down the slopes, while dual slalom riders navigate a shorter dirt track featuring ramps and berms. Designed by Christopher Herndon and Danny Cesare of Brevard, the course is the first of its kind in the Southeast. On Saturday, the resort also hosts Brews ‘N’ Views Beer Festival, which offers 45 tasting varieties, games, and live music for attendees watching the competition.
