South of the Sahara: Portrait of Africa exhibit in Waynesville

Haywood County Arts Council presents  “South of the Sahara: Portrait of Africa” beginning Wednesday, July 4 through Saturday, July 28, 2012. The show is an exhibition of photographs by John Rolland celebrating life in Sub-Saharan Africa and exploring the uncommon richness of this vibrant land.

Gallery hours are 10am-5pm, Monday-Saturday. An artist reception will be held Friday, July 6 from 6-9pm in conjunction with Downtown Waynesville’s Art After Dark.“ For more information visit www.haywoodarts.org.

Opens July 4 at Gallery 86

Waynesville, NC - The Haywood County Arts Council’s Gallery 86 will host a photography exhibition by John Rolland entitled, “South of the Sahara: Portrait of Africa” beginning Wednesday, July 4 through Saturday, July 28, 2012. The gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am-5pm. The artist’s reception will take place on Friday evening, July 6 from 6-9pm in conjunction with Waynesville’s Art After Dark event. On Saturday, July 7 from noon to 2pm, Mr. Rolland will give a presentation about his time aboard the surgical hospital ship “M/V Africa Mercy” during Waynesville’s “Saturday Stroll.” The stroll is a new add-on to Art After Dark weekends in 2012.
