Folkmoot USA

Date:
July 18, 2012 (All day) - July 29, 2012 (All day)

Celebrate world cultures during this annual festival, with performances and workshops hosted in nine counties around the region. This year, representatives from New Zealand, France, Serbia, Belgium, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Ukraine, Indonesia, Hawaii, and Peru will showcase their heritage through traditional music, colorful costumes, and elaborate folk dances. Main Street in Waynesville sets the stage for The Parade of Nations on July 20, and International Festival Day on July 21, when the street becomes a world bazaar featuring ethnic crafts and cuisine. More than 200 folk groups representing more than 100 countries have shared their culture during Folkmoot’s 28-year history.
