An official site on the North Carolina Birding Trail and home to 130 species of feathered friends, Chimney Rock is a prime viewing site for the annual hawk migration. Events include live birds of prey shows, featuring the park’s red-tailed hawks and owls, bird walks, nature photography workshops, and hawk watches. Kids can even dissect an owl pellet to learn about the nocturnal bird’s eating habits.
