Dinner at The Farm

Community Food Project invites you to a magical summer evening under the stars for an amazing dining experience.   We will be pairing local chefs, farmers and food artisans with five different courses.  The dinner benefits the Learning 2 Live Healthy Program for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport, the local homeless shelter and the local food system.

Join us for an amazing dinner, hangout with your friends, meet the chefs, farmers and artisans while you listen to great music sipping a glass of wine or ice tea.

HIGHLIGHTS

Local WNC Chef Nate Allen was winner of Cooking Light's Small-Town Chef Award will be one of the chefs for the event.   Chef Nate was also named the "Best Chef" in Western North Carolina by winning the  2011 WNC Chef Challenge and is in the semi-finals again at the 2012 Asheville Food & Wine Festival.  He is currently featured in this months, Travel + Leisure Magazine. - The Food-Lover's Drive Along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  He is owner of the farm-to-table restaurant, Knife and Fork in Spruce Pine, NC.  Find out more about his food and philosophy at www.knifeandforknc.com.

Joining Chef Nate will be Chef Barry Reitenga from Cafe Jubilee in Rogersville TN.  Barry spent eight years as a pastry chef for the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida.

Musical performance by Brad Blackwell. Brad was named East Tennesee's Best Local Artist by the Knoxville News Sentinel in 2010. He is emerging as one of the most gifted singer/songwriters on the independent music scene today.  He has performed at the famous Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville and the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville.
