Blue Ridge Breakaway

Benefitting the economic development initiative of Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, this bike ride allows participants to choose between four routes of varying difficulties. The Hawk, a 105-mile century, ascends to the Blue Ridge Parkway, then travels through Maggie Valley. The Trout, a 62.1-mile metric century, and the Panther, a 40-mile trek, offer their own challenges. The 24-mile Rabbit tackles two moderate hill climbs over Coleman and Hyder mountains before finishing at Lake Junaluska. The night before the ride, join cyclotourists Russ Roca and Laura Crawford for a presentation about their excursions across the United States.
